It may feel a little out of place on this pub-scattered isle but that's no reason to turn your nose up. IoW’s top-rated Chinese (it’s a mini-chain with other branches in Freshwater and Newport) does cracking Peking cuisine, with extra Hong Kong-style input. The chicken and beef satay are excellent, and for chilli lovers the salt and pepper squid really hits the spot. Amid the rusticity of the Isle of Wight, Hong Kong Express is a quirky place to break the mould of an english seaside holiday. Open till late it's also prime location for a night-time gorge, not always attracting the best crowd in these early hours, but still serving the same good food.
