Located right in the heart of the city, this bike hire and repair shop is always busy. But be warned: due to small spaces inside the shop, all hire bikes must be booked prior to arrival. This is because most of their hire bikes are stored in their Summertown branch, around a 30-minute walk away. Visitors can rent traditional town bikes with baskets and a rear carrier. There are two sizes of men’s and two sizes of women’s bikes to try. You can rent by day, week, or longer-term. All hire bikes come with a lock, lights (if required) and a cycle map of Oxford. Note they do not come with a helmet, but the shop has them for sale. There's also a cute cafe next door (Zappis – the only bike shop cafe in town), if you're waiting for repairs. Coffees, teas, home-made cakes and light snacks are all on offer.
