Port Isaac

Port Isaac

A leisurely 10-minute drive along the coast road from Rock and Polzeath takes you to Port Isaac, one of Cornwall’s prettiest fishing villages – which is really saying something given the stiff competition. Narrow, winding lanes and traditional fisherman’s cottages cluster around the harbour beach, and there’s a scattering of cosy pubs, restaurants, galleries and boutiques. Not only is it now famous as the setting of the popular TV series Doc Martin, but Port Isaac has also been in the limelight as home to the Fisherman’s Friends – a band of shanty singers that struck gold in 2010 with a recording deal with Universal.
