The Fitzwilliam Hotel
Belfast UK Northern Ireland
The Fitzwilliam Hotel is a contemporary and stylish boutique hotel located in the heart of Belfast's city centre. Despite the 'boutique' label, it has 130 rooms ranging from Executive Doubles to Studio Suites and a top floor Penthouse – all crisply furnished in contemporary style with flatscreen TVs, wifi throughout and large bathrooms with baths. It first opened its doors in 2009, giving visitors to the city another luxury option for their city break. The location is excellent, sited next door to the iconic Grand Opera House (theatre breaks available) and only a five-minute walk from the city's main shopping and restaurant areas. A ten-minute walk in the opposite direction takes you to Queens University and the vibrant Lisburn Road area of the city. Great Victoria Street Train Station and the Europa Bus Station are both only several hundred yards from the hotel's entrance. The Fitzwilliam's restaurant prides itself in its use of local produce, offering up a range of traditional dishes with a modern twist – the Fermanagh Beef Duo of Char Grilled Fillet and Slow Braised Cheek is fabulous – and is as popular with locals and theatre goers as it is with hotel guests. An ideal base for exploring Belfast on foot for those that like a little luxury after a hard day's sightseeing, but equally worthy of a dinner booking prior to checking out Belfast's night life.
