W5 stands for the 5 x Ws – ie who, what, where, when and why. It's an exciting and dynamic attraction based in the heart of Belfast's Titanic Quarter, to the rear of the Odyssey Arena. With over 250 permanent interactive exhibits, visitors of all ages are guaranteed to discover new things. It's spread over four large exhibition areas (called START, GO, SEE and DO) and has a range of daily science demos and live shows (allow a minimum of 2hrs for a visit). Each area offers something different for varying age groups: the musical stairs are a favourite with kids and parents alike. In addition, there's a changing programme of exhibitions and events – the Christmas themed extravaganzas are hugely popular each year. This summer sees the arrival of 'climbit', mixing physical fun, exploration and art. It's a gigantic 3D sculpture that visitors can scale and explore.
