Hotels with Lodges, Cabins and Huts
In recent years there has been a growth in hotels going the extra mile for their guests, offering not just comfortable guest rooms, but also outdoor alternatives like shepherds huts, cabins, lodges in the grounds. Much of the time these are simply 'outdoor rooms' – luxury suites basically, but apart from the hotel and a little bit closer to nature. Ranging from cosy shepherds huts to insulated log cabins and lodges, they don't usually involve any step-down in quality at all, with th same levels of luxury as you find in the main building, if not more so – indeed they can occasionally be among the hotel's most expensive accommodation. They will usually have at least the same level of facilities as a regular room, with WiFi, TV, an en-suite bathroom or shower, tea-and coffee-making faciities, and occasionally rudimentary cooking facilities. At an increasing nunmber of hotels, they may even offer a full self-catering alternative, which can be useful for groups or families with young children.
