Loke House is a beautifully restored flint cottage tucked away along a quiet pedestrian lane (aka loke in Norfolk) in the heart of Cley next the Sea, one of North Norfolk’s most distinctive coastal villages. Sleeping up to nine guests, with space for a child under three, this spacious, characterful home is ideal for families or groups of friends seeking a relaxed break.

Inside, the house combines traditional features with comfortable, well-considered living spaces. The main sitting room is warm and inviting, with exposed beams, generous windows and plenty of natural light. It’s an ideal place to gather after a day exploring the coast, whether settling down with a film, enjoying music through the Bose speaker or diving into one of the many board games provided. The farmhouse-style kitchen is fully equipped, with modern appliances, a Sage coffee machine and ample cookware and tableware. A large dining table sits in the kitchen, making it easy for everyone to come together for leisurely meals, celebrations or evening games. A separate utility room with laundry facilities adds extra convenience during longer stays.

The sleeping arrangements suit a variety of group dynamics. On the ground floor, a comfortable double bedroom enjoys views over the front garden and has access to a nearby shower room. The first floor has two further bedrooms, including a generous king-size with an en-suite shower, and a bright family-friendly double overlooking the garden. This room includes an additional built-in single cabin bed with wraparound curtains, making it particularly well-suited to parents with young children. On the second floor, a spacious zip-and-link super-king can be arranged as either a double or twin, offering flexibility for friends or siblings. A family bathroom with a bath-shower serves the upper floors.

Outside, the gardens are a real highlight. The enclosed front courtyard is perfect for morning coffee or BBQs, while the large, private rear area provides plenty of space for children to play and everyone to unwind in peaceful surroundings.

Cley next the Sea is renowned for its winding lanes, flint architecture and sweeping outlooks across the salt marshes. From the doorstep, explore the Norfolk Coastal Path, visit the shingle beach, or spend hours birdwatching at the internationally famous Cley Marshes nature reserve. Independent shops, cafés and an excellent village pub are all close by, while nearby Blakeney, Holt and the wider North Norfolk coast offer endless opportunities for days out, making Loke House a wonderful base for experiencing the exceptional county.
