Southwold Lighthouse

Stradbroke Rd Southwold IP18 6LU

Southwold’s famous white Lighthouse was built in 1887 and remarkably is still in use today, rising up among the terraces just behind the town's seafront. Its tower is 31 metres high and is open to the public on guided twenty-minute-long tours. These are fun, and well worth doing if you've never been in a working lighthouse before – though they're emphatically not for for those suffering from claustrophobia or vertigo.
