Theatre for children isn't all about panto – and at this cosy little auditorium in central Bath (attached to the more stately Theatre Royal), a whole range of fun, fantastical and innovative performances is played out. There's stuff to amuse kids of all ages, from 18-month-olds to young teens – and their families: dance acts, puppet shows, quirky fairytales and dark operettas; and each show comes with an age rating so you know if it's suitable for your brood. The theatre itself is a womb-like red space – those with long legs might get sore knees on the low bench seats – but the foyer café serves up good cakes while you wait for the magic to start.
