Situated in one of the city centre's most popular districts, The Resident is perhaps Liverpool's most affordable yet stylish places to stay.  Occupying an old brick printworks, its strikingly modern rooms are cosy and well-equipped – neutrally decorated in tones of black, grey and cream, and focused on important features like comfortable beds, decent-sized bathrooms, good wifi and Smart TVs and air-conditioning.

There is a nice lounge to hang out in during the day, and the reception is 24-hour. However, the hotel generally eschews lots of facilities favour of lower prices, and instead of a bar or restaurant each room has its own kitchenette with fridge and microwave for making a cuppa or heating up some food. The guest rooms are also triple-glazed, which means a good night's sleep is assured in the pleasantly boisterous Ropewalks neighbourhood.  It's a great location, too, for exploring central Liverpool, with everything just a few minutes' walk away.
