Nestled in the heart of the South Downs, Kenny's Hut and Cleo's Hut each offer about as romantic a glamping option as you could imagine. Both are re-purposed shepherds huts with all mod cons – and, not far from the main London-Brighton road (the A23), they are both easy to reach and hard to leave. Situated in a super-peaceful location in Mid Sussex, they make for a brilliant pair of luxury country retreats for two, each situated in its own field and with a private hot tub and sundeck and plenty of privacy!
For those who haven't tried glamping and are a bit unsure, this is Luxury Glamping par excellence, with an emphasis on the creature comforts we all crave at times. Indeed the average shepherd wouldn't recognise what is effectively a hotel suite in a field, with a king-size bed and good quality cotton linen, your own kitchenette (with induction hot plate, fridge and kettle), an en-suite bathroom and a wood-burning stove to keep things cosy. The difference is you can sit out at night on your own sundeck and enjoy uninterrupted views of the South Downs and a field full of sheep while listening to birdsong and warming yourself in front of the fire. Outside the huts you'll find a sun deck with wood-fired hot tub, table, deckchairs and firebowl.
This is an idyllic spot, and you can of course rent just the one hut, which is what most people do. But bear in mind you can also rent them both, along with the nearby Piggery (which is equally inviting). There are bikes available to hire from the owners, and lots to see and do nearby around and about – tons of country walks and bike rides, picturesque nearby villages like Bolney and Cuckfield, and sights like the Bolney Wine Estate, which is within easy walking distance and offers regular tours and tastings. You're also not far from a number of excellent country pubs for post-walk pints: The Bolney Stage and also the excellent Crabtree Inn, whose food draws people for miles around.
