Large and extremely popular camping, caravan and chalet park immediately behind Wells’s magnificent sandy beach, which stretches as far as the eye can see. Has every amenity, including a supermarket, lounge, self-catering facilities, and a coffee shop, and there’s even a toytown miniature railway connecting the holiday park with the centre of Wells, about half a mile away.



Several shower blocks with plenty of showers, toilets and washing-up sinks, kids’ playground, well-stocked mini-market, coffee shop, boating lake with canoes and rowing boats for hire, trampolines, crazy golf, pool room.

Food & Drink

In Burnham Market, The Hoste Arms (01328 738777) continues to win accolades for its imaginative menu and well priced wines.

For a local pint and good-value bar food, The Globe Inn (01328 710206) in Wells is the best bet. The Victoria (01328 713230) is an exceptional gastropub at the entrance to Holkham Hall, with a changing restaurant menu featuring local ingredients.

Getting There

Wells-next-the-Sea is 30 miles northwest of Norwich as the crow flies. From the A149 coast road, follow the signs to Wells and then to the beach. Pinewoods is almost at the end of Beach Road on the left.

Take the train to Kings Lynn and the popular Coast Hopper bus to Wells.
