University College

High Street Oxford OX1 4BH

The oldest of the Oxford colleges, ‘Univ’, as it’s fondly known, isn’t formally open to the public. However, the college – which claims Alfred the Great as its founder, and also claims Percy Shelley amongst its alumni (though he was in fact expelled) – will admit small groups of interested tourists and to view their famous white marble statue of Shelley.
