The Vicarage

Based in a Grade-II-listed 17th-century Georgian house not far from the river Dene, The Vicarage is part of the Cheshire-based Flat Cap group, and a good example of their signature proposition of good food and drink and comfortable rooms at a decent price.  The Vicarage is not only dog-friendly but family friendly too, with two outdoor terraces and a kids' play area and a bar and restaurant that is open all day and serves good, approachable food from a varied menu that encompasses steaks and burgers, sandwiches and brunch and a selection of roasts on Sundays. Their outdoor 'Hut' bar is a magnet in the summer months, and they host regular live music both inside and out. They have 23 guest bedrooms, each with have typical Flat Cap styling – spacious and individually designed, with big comfy beds made up with quality linen, wifi and Smart TVs, tea-and coffee-making facilities and modern en-suite bathrooms with fluffy towels and toiletries.

For things to see and do, Knutsford is just a few minutes away from the hotel and has a historic and undeniably attractive town centre that's famously a magnet for Premier League footballers from nearby Manchester and Liverpool. It's a good place to shop and browse and is also conveniently close to the National Trust's Tatton Park, whose magnificent Tudor mansion is among the country's finest historic buildings, with an important collection of paintings, and whose gardens and grounds are one of the biggest family and outdoor attractions in the North West.
