It's both a useful gateway to the Broads and a perfect base for exploring the medieval delights of Norfolk's county capital.  There are spacious grass pitches spread over two – upper and lower – fields. You can park up tent-side in the lower field while the upper is a car-free haven with plenty of room for a run and a play. Dogs are welcome, and there are also a couple of fully furnished bell tents and two cute and cosy shepherds huts, with views overlooking the Broad.

Run by Linda Robey and her dog Mr Murphy, it's The Broads-Lite, if we're honest, but that's no reason not to come here – it'sWashing facilities are good and include 3 ladies and 2 gents loos with washbasins, and 2 shower rooms, one male, one female, each containing 3 showers and a communal changing area with benches and clothes pegs. The country park's Outdoor Education Centre provides a host of activities including kayaking, sailing and windsurfing on the Broad, but if you'd rather keep your feet strictly on the the ground there's countless scenic walks and bike rides to enjoy. Or you could nip into Norwich for the day and visit its lovely old centre and grand cathedral. 

The local area

The neighbouring Outdoor Education Centre offers plenty of broad-based aquatic activities including canoeing, dragon boat hire, sailing, windsurfing. The site is right on the Wherryman's Man and national Cycle Route One path. Norwich has attractions galore as well plenty of places to eat and drink.
