Lee Wick Farm Glamping

‘The Times’ reckoned Lee Wick Glamping one of the 20 best glamping sites in the country a couple of years ago, and it’s hard to disagree. Just an hour and a half drive from London, this gloriously rural yet easy-to-reach Essex farm and livery stables is home to multiple varieties of luxury glamping accommodation, mostly a selection of cabins and pods, along with a handful of camping pitches – all with gorgeous views over the surrounding countryside. The farm even has a couple of self-catering holiday cottages for your non-glamping buddies!

Lee Wick Farm's glamping accommodation is diverse, bespoke and very comfortable indeed, varying from three couples-only ‘Armadillas’, which come complete with underfloor heating, mood lighting, Bluetooth, TV, plus loo, wet-room and kitchenette, to 12 brand-new ‘Lushna’ cabins, which are large enough for 2–5 people, depending on size, and have floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the big skies and coastal views. The site is also home to five cabin-like structures they call CargoPods and MegaPods, which are similarly well appointed, and dog-friendly too, sleeping 2 adults or 2 adults + 2 children and all come with their own wood-fired hot tubs.

Finally, Lee Wick Farm's location is a terrific one – close to the indented Essex coast and the historic Essex village of St Osyth, where you’ll find plenty of pubs, shops and other amenities. You're walking distance from a beach, and can take the foot ferry across from Point Clear to nearby Mersea Island, where you can sample the seafood delights at the renowned Company Shed on the far side of the island. There are nearby fishing opportunities, horseriding, and you can easily walk to Colne Point Nature Reserve, where you can spot all manner of birds and other wildlife along its shallow creeks, marsh and shingle.
