An idyllic holiday cottage on a Pembrokeshire Farm near Tenby
Book a stay at Lower Bubbleton Holiday Cottage and you’ll be staying in the beautiful Welsh countryside, just a short stroll from the Pembrokeshire coast. Cross the fields to join the coast path and you can choose to head three miles west to the coastal village of Manorbier or three miles east to Tenby. Both have medieval castles and sandy beaches, although Lydstep Beach is even closer. This well-located, two-bedroomed cottage is also part of a farm, which has animals you’re welcome to meet, a good farm shop and café, and friendly owners who make sure the place is just so. They also have a range of glamping accommodation if that's more your bag.
This stone-walled, slate roofed holiday cottage is a traditional Pembrokeshire longhouse. It would once have housed cows but it’s been well-converted by owners Sally and Tom and now provides perfect holiday accommodation for a family, with one en-suite double bedroom up in the eaves and a family bedroom downstairs. This one has a double and a single and a family bathroom next door. Both are neatly furnished, softly carpeted and gently coloured with painted walls in light duck egg blues. In fact, those tones flow from the five-bar gate on the driveway right through to the kitchen, which offers just the sort of country kitchen vibes you’d hope for from a cottage on a farm, with a cream coloured Aga, a butler sink and shaker-style cupboards.
The cottage is traditional up to a point ,but the relatively recent conversion means it’s also got everything you want from a modern holiday cottage under its age-old beams – a log burner and a Freeview TV in the living room, a dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen and underfloor heating throughout.
Dogs are welcome and the enclosed garden outside is perfect to let them roam free. The same could be said for your kids. They will love the sunken trampoline and play equipment and will treasure time spent with you around the fire pit in the evenings. It doubles as a barbecue and you can pick up local sausages to cook on it from Sally and Tom’s farm shop, which is virtually next door. And, if the idea of outdoor living really takes your fancy, you might want to return for a summer stay on Bubbleton Farm’s lovely camping and glamping site, Becks Bay Camping, where you can stay in a shepherd's hut, yurt or bell tent and get even closer to nature in the Pembrokeshire National Park.
