A row of twelve New England-style beach homes, kitted out to suit the most discerning guests, the Flying Boat Cottages are a picture-perfect place to dip your toes into Scilly island life. There's direct access to the beach – lovely if you want an early morning dip or sunset stroll – and facilities on site are second to none, with a handsomely designed spa featuring indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi and gym. There's also a decent bar and bistro, and bike hire if you fancy pottering around the island under your own steam. Inside, these are not so much cottages as glam five-star beach hideaways, each sleeping from 6 to 10 people and boasting a 'cool island' vibe – contemporary colours and decor, underfloor heating, open-plan living and big windows with the all-important ocean views. You also get ferried from quay to cottage for the full upmarket celeb experience, so don't stint on the packing – you're going to need to look good in these surroundings.

The local area

From its unspoilt beaches to its beautiful and varied landscape, Tresco is both a relaxing and fascinating place to stay. The island is equally suited to those who wish to take life easy as it is to those seeking discovery and adventure. There are plenty of diverse activities from fishing and sailing to fine dining and being pampered in our spa.

Tresco is also home to the sub-tropical beauty of the world famous Abbey Garden – renowned for its extraordinary plants and its Valhalla collection of  shipwrecked figureheads. Discover and enjoy its natural beauty.

Why not take to the seas for exploration and exhilaration or view the variety of interesting bird-life that can be found throughout the island?
