Woodland cabins and lodges in the heart of Delamere Forest in Cheshire
An ancient stretch of woodland, wetland and low hills at the heart of the county, Cheshire's Delamere Forest has been a well-known place of relaxation and recovery for active locals for years, popular with walkers, cyclists, horse riders and the like. And now, a Forest Holidays location, home to a selection of treehouses, log cabins and lodges situated amid the trees in idyllic woodland locations – everything from 5-bedroom cabins sleeping 10 people to romantic forest hideaways for two.
They've thought of everything at Forest Holidays - the larger cabins have an extra en-suite bedroom connected by a rope bridge through the trees; some of the cabins have hammocks, sunken baths and hot tubs, while others have log-burning stoves and gas barbecues; some are accessible to disabled guests, with easy access for wheelchairs, specially adapted wet rooms and even a hoist attached to the hot tub. Finally, the location is perfect, easy to reach but just as magical as their other UK locations, with its own bar, café and shop, a children's play area, bike hire, and activities and events organised by the Forest Ranger teams, including Segway sessions, bushcraft adventures and treasure hunts for kids. There's a Go Ape nearby if you want to get up into the tree canopy, while walkers can follow any number of routes, for example, the Sandstone Trail – one of the UK's Top 100 Walks.
