This City Council sponsored project takes you on a self-guided tour of the city centre’s revamped Merchant City, delving beyond the impressive shop facades and dipping deep into its history – just pick up a free leaflet at the Tourist Office on George Square. Highlights include the (often traffic cone topped) statue of the Duke of Wellington, the pavement engravings on Ingram Street itself and the striking La Pasionaria, a Spanish Civil War monument dedicated to Dolores Ibarruri.
