This social history exhibition is housed at the fun and funky Lighthouse and as such it's no drab Victorian-style array of boring exhibits. Instead the story of the ‘Dear Green Place’ is told through its own people down through the ages, and you get to see the city’s development unfold with a 360-degree bird’s-eye view (beamed from the ceiling) that tracks changes from the coming of the Romans right through to the arrival of the 21st century. Great fun.
