Rick Stein, Marlborough

Situated in a handsome grade-II-listed building right on Marlborough's equally handsome high street, the latest addition to the excellent Rick Stein Southwest chain of restaurants is highly rated by locals. And quite rightly too, rolling out the Stein formula of great fish and seafood dishes, simply cooked and presented, at moderate prices.  They don't only serve fish, the steaks are excellent too, along with veggie options and the odd fusion dish like Indonesian seafood curry.  They're open every day for lunch and dinner, and you can eat a la carte menu or try the good-value set lunch menu (£19.95 for 2 courses). Relaxed and informal dining in an elegant setting that's a perfect complement to the rest of Marlborough's busy main drag. Excellent service too.
