Nottingham Playhouse

Wellington Circus Nottingham NG1 5AF

Long a leading light in the performing arts, Nottingham Playhouse occupies a distinctive modern building in the city centre. Built in the 1960s to a design by the German–born but later London–based architect Peter Moro, the building is an uncompromising structure, though its harsh lines have been softened by the addition of Anish Kapoor’s delightful 'Sky Mirror' in the theatre forecourt. The Playhouse offers a wide-ranging and popular/populist programme from comedy nights to dance, music, pantomime and theatre – with the classics lower down the pecking order.
