See No Evil

Nelson Street, Bristol BS1

In summer 2011 Nelson Street in central Bristol became one of the world’s largest outdoor art exhibitions. This former rundown area at the back of Broadmead was turned into an astonishing street art display by some of the biggest names in international street art, and includes art from muralists Tats Cru, and LA artist El Mac. It’s the brainchild of street-art pioneer Inkie, Bristol music promoters Team Love and Bristol City Council, and beyond being a eye-popping feast for your cameraphone – check out the images of enormous businessmen pouring red paint over the streets alongside beautiful women, enormous prawns and much more – it’s a great example of what can be achieved when such disparate groups come together.
