Designed very much to be one of Manchester's most luxurious places to stay, King Street Townhouse doesn't disappoint. It enjoys a super-convenient location, tucked away on a quiet street but perfectly placed for the city's art gallery, shops and nightlife. Its rooms are beautifully decked out with no expense spared, and best of all it has the relaxing feel of a proper, small-scale boutique hotel.  If funds can stretch, it's central Manchester's best place to stay.

The hotel has just 40 guest rooms and suites, each fairly spacious and provided with good wifi, tea and coffee-making facilities (including Nespresso machines), xx TVs and en -suite bathrooms with walk-in showers and freestanding baths, robes and toiletries. Beds are extremely comfy and come with high quality linen, and the hotel offers room service and laundry service.

Downstairs, the King Street Tavern serves drinks and good food, while there's also a gym, steam room and sauna and a small spa offering treatments and an indoor infinity pool on the roof. They even have their own little cinema, screening movies at the weekends. As Dorothy might have said had The Wizard of Oz been set in another place and in another age, 'I've a feeling we're not in Manchester anymore'.
