Denmark Farm
UK Wales Mid Wales Ceredigion Lampeter
Situated in the heart of rural Ceredigion in southwest Wales, Denmark Farm Conservation Centre is the ultimate eco-retreat. It's a farm and nature reserve running courses in sustainable living and habitats management, but also has a campsite, bunkhouse and hostel, and a self-catering eco-lodge that can accommodate anything up to 16 people in 3 separate apartments.
The great thing about the lodge is that it's flexible: you can occupy as much or as little space as you like, from 2 people to an upper limit 16 (if you're utilising all 6 bedrooms and sofa beds), so it's ideal for everyone from couples to families to large groups of friends or extended families. The accommodation is crisp and clean, almost Scandinavian in feel, and is situated in the middle of Denmark Farm's 40-acre nature reserve, complete with woodland trails and hides, ponds, lakes and meadows; plus there are play areas outside and in the woods. It's all about sustainability, and all profits go to help fund the work of the centre's nature and biodiversity charity, the Shared Earth Trust. But it's no hair-shirt enterprise – holidays here are both a comfortable and affordable way to enjoy this special, natural environment; and bear in mind also that you're in a fabulous part of Wales, with countless great walks on your doorstep – the beautiful Hafod Estate and the Devils Bridge Falls are nearby – as is the university town of Lampeter, the Ceredegion coast and any number of other great attractions, natural and otherwise.

Travelling from Lampeter on the A485, look out for our brown tourist sign and take the turning left (after a stone bridge) and continue for around two miles; Denmark Farm is located on the left. Look out for the ‘Denmark Farm Conservation Centre’ sign at the end of our track (and be warned SatNav often takes drivers a mile or two past Denmark Farm!)
Not advised, The nearest train station is at Carmarthen, about 25 miles away.Related Guides
