Beautifully located on the edge of Loch Awe, in the wilds of western Scotland, these log cabins offer a fabulous chance to get away from pretty much everything if that's what you're keen to do. Their location in the heart of the Inverliever forest (indeed the tiny village of Dalavich is itself a Forestry Commission creation) is perfect for both waterside and woodland holidays: each lodge enjoys fishing rights on the loch (Scotland's longest and renowned for its trout fishing), and where the water ends, the forest begins, with all manner of scenic walks and cycle routes and any amount of wildlife to spot along the way. from red squirrel and deer in the woods to osprey and otters on the loch.
As for the lodges, there are four in all, each with its own secluded space (at least a quarter-of-an-acre) so that you would hardly know the others were there. They vary in size, sleeping from 4 to 6 people, and you can choose between a woodland or waterside location, but all come complete with open-plan living area with kitchen, 2–3 bedrooms, family bathroom, wood-burning stove, and large verandah, a TV and DVD player and free wifi – plus they are all pet-friendly, so you can bring the family hound along as well. Best of all though are the eco-friendly wood-burning hot tubs. Fern Lodge is deep in the woods by a babbling brook but still only 150m from the loch; while the other woodland lodge - Orchy - is 250m from the shore. The other two – Crannog Lodge and Lochside Lodge – both overlook the water. They're all fully insulated, double-glazed and warm and cosy at any time of year, but obviously sitting in the hot tub enjoying a glass of wine while looking out over the loch on a summer's evening is pretty hard to beat!

The Owner Says
Our log cabins are all situated on the shores of Loch Awe, often described as the most beautiful loch in all of Scotland. Two of our lodges have their own private beach front and they are all situated in large plots of land – one of them sits in an acre of its own land. Peaceful, serene, relaxed and a little bit off the beaten track. The hot tubs are wood-burning and we think listening to the crackling of the flames in the wood burner is so much more natural and relaxing than listening to the hum of an electric hot tub. -Many reviews we have received say the same thing .... "we didn’t want to leave". Dogs are welcome
Location
Getting There
The lodges are located 500m from the small village of Dalavich. Travelling from the south take the A85 towards Oban; at the village of Taynuilt turn left onto the B845 and follow this scenic single track road for 15 miles to the forest park.
