Just off Woodbridge's main drag, the Angel is a relatively newly renovated pub with a laid-back vibe and serving a simple menu of fish and chips, sausage and mash, steaks and few veggie dishes – easy stuff, but all locally sourced and beautifully cooked. There is usually an interesting special or two on the board too, and the choice of ales includes brews from Woodforde's, Adnam's and usually one or two guest ales. They also have probably Suffolk's biggest choice of different gins, including Spanish and Dutch varieties as well as any number of boutique English varieties.
