Anglesey Yurt Glamping

At this friendly Anglesey glamping site Mike Ketcher and his wife Joanna have installed a large and comfortable bell tent (they call it a yurt, but it's really a bell tent!) and a hand-crafted gypsy caravan from where you can enjoy the stunning views of Snowdonia on the far side of the Menai Straits.

The gypsy caravan sleeps sleep five people in comfort, and has everything you need for a relaxing weekend or longer, with a wood-burning stove, kitchen area, and its own veranda for enjoying the brilliant views. The bell tent sleeps four and is equipped with a double bed and futon, wood-burning stove, fridge and cooking area. Both are located in a secluded, private paddock away from the house, with space for parking and a lawn for children and pets to play on. There's a composting toilet and a hot shower unit with wash basin shared by both accommodations.

Mike and Joanna are very friendly and have loads of tips on where to go and what to do while you're here. With no fewer than seven dogs of their own, they are extremely pet-friendly too, so you are free to bring your own hound who is welcome to sleep in the tent or caravan with you.

The location is great. The Blue Flag beach of Newborough is just a ten-minute drive away, its golden sands set against the ever-present backdrop of the mountains of Snowdonia (a thirty-minute drive away). The popular attractions of Zip World Velocity and Zip World are just 30–45 minutes away, as is Surf Snowdonia, while closer to home this part of Anglesey hosts the fabulous Marram Grass restaurant, recently voted as one of the Top 40 restaurants in the UK (book in advance if you want to have a chance of eating there)!

The nearest large town to the site, Menai Bridge, has a supermarket, pubs and places to eat, including Dylan’s, which has superb views of the Menai Straits from its waterfront location.
