Artist Residence
There's nothing obvious or formulaic about Artist Residence, a collection of deliberately quirky boutique hotels spread across the south of England. They describe themselves as an 'eccentric bunch of fun and friendly places to eat, drink and sleep' and that just about sums them up: Artist Residence hotels are always comfortable and well appointed, but each one is different. As well as stylish en-suite rooms, they generally have the sort of bar and restaurant that appeals to non-residents too. Their properties are often interesting takes on old buildings that have been re-purposed to make a contemporary hotel – an old boot factory, a revamped townhouse or two – and they tend to suit urban, seaside and countryside locations equally well.
