A luxury Exmoor B&B with sumptuous grounds and sensational views
There are posh B&Bs, and then there is Bossington Hall: a new to the market, luxury Somerset Bed & Breakfast that not only enjoys a marvellous location, with eight acres of grounds, gardens and leisure facilities but is also home to six extremely comfortable, spacious guest rooms, all with wonderful views out to sea or over the moors and woodland behind. Based just outside the popular seaside village of Porlock Weir, on the edge of the mighty Exmoor National Park, there are plenty of B&Bs in the area but we have to say none can match the personable luxury of Bossington Hall, not to mention the glorious views. Come here once and we guarantee you'll return.

Formerly known simply as 'Lynch House', the house was built in the early 20th century by a local shipping magnate, in a 'sunny spot' on the outskirts of Porlock just a stone's throw from the sea. All the rooms are different, but they're all very generous sizes, especially the massive The Greenaleigh Suite (which can accommodate 4 in double and twin bedrooms). All the other rooms are regular but spacious doubles, and because of the way the house is configured, only 2 have en-suite bathrooms (the other 4 each have private bathrooms). Again all the bathrooms are spacious and well-equipped, with towels, robes and toiletries, and a couple features rolltop baths. Beds are king-size or super-king-size, with comfortable, quality mattresses, and all the rooms have good wifi, Smart TVs, tea and coffee-making facilities and complimentary hospitality tray. Two of the six rooms allow dogs, and two can inter-connect, making them perfect for a family with slightly older children. Breakfasts meanwhile are legendary, with a choice of Full English or Continental, and packed lunches can be provided for hungry walkers.

Bossington Hall also has more than the average crop of B&B facilities, including a a free car charging point, cinema room with a large screen, tennis court, the oldest private squash court in the country, a children's playground, river and pond and and acres of informal gardens. You also couldn't be better placed for exploring Exmoor, and Porlock is only a mile away, with plenty of options for drinks and dinner. Very much a place to relax and explore both the stunning coastline and and national park.

6 bedrooms, all very different, await you. Edwardian elegance is blended with modern facilities like WiFi and 50" smart TVs to create a truly unique experience. The rooms are very generous, two are dog-friendly, and just two are en-suite including the spectacular Heddon Master bedroom.  Fridges, tea and coffee and complementary hospitality tray in every room. Breakfast is included, Continental, salmon, avocado, poached egg to name a few options, as well as the obligatory Full English from the finest local ingredients possible. The views from the front rooms through the oak mullioned windows is breathtaking, yet the view from the terrace is panoramic and impossible to capture in a mere photograph.

Few settings could be as serene and beautiful as that of Bossington Hall, exquisite bed and breakfast accommodation surrounded by the wild Exmoor countryside and the Heritage Coast of Bossington Bay on the Bristol Channel, near pretty Porlock with its characterful streets, shops and country pubs.

The House itself is an attraction and observant guests will relish unusually precise attention to every detail of the property, thanks to the sky-high standards of Owner, Guy, formerly an aircraft design engineer. The room signs are hand crafted and the door locks have individually crafted keys. There is an electric vehicle charging point and recreational facilities including tennis, badminton and squash courts, a children’s play area and even a 10-seat cinema.

Bed and breakfast accommodation here is luxurious and attentive, with superbly appointed guest bedrooms with en-suite or private bathrooms. Guests share a sumptuous lounge and the sunniest of dining rooms, and the breakfast is prepared with carefully selected fresh and locally produced ingredients, which doesn’t only support the local community but also guarantees a healthy and high-quality meal for our guests.
