The people that brought you the North Bar are also behind this chirpy reboot of an old foundry workers’ pub in Holbeck Urban Village, just beyond Granary Wharf. It’s cute and cosy inside, with bare-brick walls, stone flags, vintage lamps and a wood-burner, and in summer the off-street courtyard really comes into its own. Drinks are top notch, from craft-brewery beers to pudding wines, and the gastro-pub menu is great; Sunday lunch is a particular treat, with gargantuan roasts and all the trimmings on offer (if you’re a group or big family think about ordering ahead for a whole rib of beef, leg of lamb or loin of pork, to carve by yourself at the table).
