My husband and I recently walked past The Boatman by the river in Windsor when walking our dog, and popped in for a drink. We were delighted that Sidney our dog was very welcome - they love dogs and made a real fuss of him, providing treats and water. It was the first time we've actually stayed out for an impromptu dinner where we could eat proper restaurant food in the bar with a nice glass of wine - well a beer for Pete. I had calves liver which was delicious and Pete had a gourmet burger - the desserts were quality too. So pretty by the river with the fairy lights and the lights from across the river in Eton. A real hidden gem. Apparently they're kid-friendly too and have a kids menu!
