Luxury wooden cabins in the beautiful countryside of North Devon.

Bordered by ferns and irises, the picturesque lake at Coastal Cabins is a tranquil backdrop for some of the best glamping in North Devon, a series of custom-built cabins that occupies a wild yet manicured two-acre space on the wild north Devon coast. It's unique accommodation in a perfect seaside location, and an ideal base for exploring the wild Hartland Peninsula, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Above all though it's just a lovely place to chill out and enjoy the sea, the coastline and the surrounding countryside.

Set just a mile or so from the South West Coast Path, Coastal Cabins really does live up to its name. It’s difficult to spend a day here without strolling along one beach or another, or atop the rocky headlands, and the setting is perfect – especially when summer is in full, sunny swing.  The site comprises 10 cabins in total: half of these have a king-sized bed and are suitable for couples (they have now introduced sofa beds to all of their 'Couples Cabins' due to popular demand), while the other half are big enough to accommodate a family of four, with an extra set of bunk beds. All of them divide between the sleeping and living space, the shower room and the modern kitchenette, equipped with oven, sink, fridge and all the utensils you need. The whitewashed cladding and the double-glazed windows lend them a spacious, airy feel, while a circular roof-light lets in extra daylight. All in all they’re an innovative new take on the traditional beach hut, but with multiple knobs on.

As regards other facilities, there's a cabin BBQ so you can cook up a feast and also the 'Wild Spa' Hot Tub area, which can be hired by the hour – a great place to relax when you've finally put down your bucket and spade and set aside some 'me' time. It's a fair bit warmer than swimming in the sea too.

Perfect setup

We spent a great 4 nights here - it was a perfect setup as the cabin had everything that we needed, but the kids had the outdoor space and other children to play with. As an adult on their own with children, it made for an easy, and safe holiday. The location was lovely with lots to explore, great beaches nearby and easy access to other facilities.

Amazing site

Just came back after 3 nights with two boys at the cabins. The site is amazing, really nice views, all the facilities you would want, close to nice beaches. We had a lovely time and planning to return. The boys enjoyed playing football in the field, watching the geese family and having toasted marshmallows in the bbq cabin.

Would not hesitate to recommend

We had an amazing stay at Coastal Cabins. We were surprised by how spacious the cabins were. They were spotlessly clean, well-equipped and very comfy….perfect for our family stay. The site is beautiful, incredibly peaceful yet full of families having fun. The location is great for exploring the stunning beaches and not too far from Bude which was one our faves. It felt truly magical and I would not hesitate to recommend (so much so we extended our stay whilst there and stopped on an extra few nights!).

Our favourite place in Devon!

After a couple of visits to coastal cabins, it's our favourite place in Devon. The cabins are great, well-equipped, clean and comfortable. Our little 1 year old absolutely loves it there, very peaceful and open space to explore. And the barbeque hut is awesome. Melissa is very helpful and accommodating, helping us with a comfortable travel cot for the toddler.

We'll definitely be back

We had the most amazing four-night stay at Coastal Cabins. The cabin was very clean and well equipped, beds were comfy and it was warm at night. The outdoor space was perfect for my two children who were able to roam freely and play with the friends they made. The BBQ cabin was a highlight - lots of families congregated there in the evening. The location is beautiful, Hartland peninsula is really rugged and feels totally unspoilt. Would highly recommend.

Very peaceful and pretty

Had a lovely week break at Coastal Cabins. Really loved our little place. We stayed in Hartland Quay Cabin which is more for couples I would say, though there is a sofa bed if needed. Other cabins have bunk beds so more suitable for families. Had a communal BBQ hut on site, and each cabin has a small BBQ you can use. Also a hot tub that you can book (giving 48 hrs notice). Very peaceful and with a lake at the other end of the field, very pretty. Well stocked and had more than site advised, as I wasn't expecting TV and hairdryer. Other than your food and toiletries, everything was there for us. Real effort has gone into making it a lovely cozy space. Janet was just lovely, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Also gave us great advice on places to visit. About 1 mile from the local village, but as roads are quite narrow you might feel more comfortable driving there. 3 local pubs and a restaurant nearby so if you don't want to make an evening meal you are covered. Beautiful area of North Devon. Do head towards Hartland Point & Hartland Quay for some spectacular coastline.

We will be back!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Such a safe environment for the kids to run around as there are no cars on site. Gorgeous peaceful setting and comfy rooms. The shower was EPIC - so hot and powerful! Loads to see and do in the area. We will be back!

Highly recommend

Beautiful property, kind and attentive owners, high-quality accommodation and amenities, and a beautiful area. One person in our party has mobility issues, and this was no problem on the site - we were able to enjoy the short loop path around the pond, as well as driving-reach sites nearby. Found a wonderful local butcher, on recommendation from an equally charming farm cafe nearby, and took advantage of the bbq cabin. Decided to go all out and booked time in the hot tub, too. All in all a wonderful short break we highly recommend. A big thank you to the team.

Strongly recommend

This was our second year at Coastal Resorts. The cabins are great for a family stay. They are well-equipped, clean and comfortable. The site is also spacious so that you are not all on top of each other, and there are good barbequing facilities if you get the weather! Melissa's team was on hand if we had any queries or requests. The site is well situated to access the local beaches and walks this part of the coast offers (the sunset at nearby Hartland Quay is magical). We'd strongly recommend.

Perfect relaxing getaway

My partner and I stayed at the Coastal Cabin Glamping for 2 nights over the weekend for a little break from work & kids. It was very easy to find and simple check in. The Cabin had everything we needed for the stay, a lovely powerful shower, private, quiet and clean and tidy. We booked the hot tub for an hour on the second evening, we were greeted by the hosts with 2 mini bottles of prosecco, glasses and towels. This was really the perfect relaxing getaway we needed and great for a couple who wanted some R & R. Highly recommended and we will certainly be returning again. Thank you Melissa & Team.
