Luxury Glamping in five fully equipped, beautifully furnished Safari lodges

The Owner Says

Five thoughtfully positioned safari tents (each sleeping six) come furnished with vintage leather sofas, luxurious linen and a blanket box filled with family-friendly games. At the heart of each identical lodge is a fully-equipped kitchen with a wood-burning stove, keeping the cosy interior warm in all weathers whilst also providing a means of cooking. Not only that, each country-inspired abode has its very own shower room (and separate en-suite), with flushing loo and basin, plus a wide range of natural aromatherapy products.

About Longlands Glamping

Suitable For

Uno! Check Mate! Triple Word Score! World Domination!

Put away the gadgets and enjoy a game of Monopoly, Scrabble or Uno! The blanket box, filled with our favourite games, and the three-seater leather vintage chesterfield sofa provide entertainment and comfort, whilst you bask in the warmth of the wood burner.

Wash away the cares of the day

Each lodge has its own en-suite shower room and separate en-suite wash room. Hot water for the shower, sink and basin is provided by a wood-burning boiler, that also ensures the shower room is warm as toast! We provide all your bath linen, plus a gorgeous range of natural aromatherapy bathroom products.

A great night’s sleep

Snuggle into a warm bed and under a thick duvet. Enjoy the feel of luxurious White Company Egyptian Cotton bed linen. Be lulled to sleep by the babble of the stream, the wind in the trees. Breathe in that fresh air and sleep soundly. Sweet dreams!

Discover Longlands

We have 17 acres of beautiful countryside for you to enjoy at Longlands, including meadows, ancient woods and streamside walks to discover and explore. We even have our own boating lake, complete with our boats Oxford and Cambridge, so you can enjoy your very own boat race. There is also a football goal, cricket net, table tennis, giant chess, a netball hoop and a basket ball hoop. So score a goal, hit a run, shoot a hoop or check mate!

So many adventures to be had

Meet the Beast of Exmoor. Swim with Sea Lions. Spot red deer. Meet Exmoor ponies. Walk on golden sands. Surf some waves. Leap into the sea. Go rock pooling. Count the wild goats in the Valley of the Rocks. Climb the coastal paths.

The Longlands Large Book of Adventures in each lodge is filled with enough ideas to fill a month, never mind a weekend!

Getting There

From Junction 27 of the M5: follow the A361 (towards Barnstable), continue over next 2 roundabouts, staying on A361. At the fourth roundabout (Aller Dean) take third exit onto the A399 to Combe Martin. Turn right off the A399 (to Trentishoe and Hunters Inn) and continue past this turning and Moorish Farm Shop on the right. Go slowly as Longlands is the very next right, after the large white road sign on the left, around the blind corner, opposite a converted chapel. If you pass left hand turnings to Barnstaple and Woolacombe, you have just gone past. If in doubt call Bella (07798 526133) or Pam (07786 413316).

The nearest train station is Barnstaple (12 miles), however train routes and connections often make Tiverton Parkway a more convenient station, even though its 40 miles away. If coming from Barnstaple, the Filers 309 Bus stops at Easter Close Cross, practically at the end of the drive. If coming from Tiverton, Andy's Cabs (07920 032293), based in Combe Martin can take you. For parties of more than 10, you’re best booking a mini bus from Mark Booker (01271 883711).
