The Best Places to Stay in the UK

Norfolk is a county with a fantastic mix of things to do: the long North Norfolk Coast  is perfect for short seaside breaks and has a great selection of seaside pubs with rooms and boutique hotels, while, inland, you find the compact city of Norwich, and, to the east, the scenic network of rivers and lakes that makes up The Norfolk Broads. As the fields meet the coastline there are barriers of marshland that are a popular destination for wildlife lovers; the coast is dotted with nature reserves and wild bird sanctuaries, bustling seaside resorts and some of the finest British beaches, and there is a variety of accommodation options to serve them, with a wide range of hotels, hostels, B&Bs and holiday cottages, along with some of the country's best rural pubs and restaurants, many of which don't mind muddy children or wet dogs. The ancient city of Norwich sits at the heart of it all, with an old centre of cobbled lanes and narrow alleys that zero in on the Market Place, a wide and open piazza that is very much the centre of town. There’s lots to see, not least Norwich’s amazing cathedral, and all of it is within easy walking distance, and although iut doesn;t have the widest selection of hotels, it does have good places to eat and the highest density of pubs per square mile in the UK, plus a lively performing arts scene, enervated by the city’s large student presence.
