This classy inn has an impressive menu of high quality yet no-nonsense good food that takes in everything from high-end seafood to fish and chips and traditional roasts on Sundays. Just what every gastropub should aspire too, in other words. The wine list is nicely balanced and sensibly priced, and the restaurant itself somehow manages to be large and intimate at the same time, with inviting corners for romantics and yet offering space for up to 150 diners on busy days and special occasions. There's also a function room, a map room and a library for intimate get-togethers, and you can just have a drink in the bar if you want. They also have ten rooms for rent upstairs. One of the best places to eat on this stretch of coast – and there's a fair amount of competition.
