Mary Jane’s Fish Bar

27 Garden Street Cromer NR27 9HN 01263 511 208

We say

Something of a local institution, this long-established chippie serves some of the tastiest and freshest fish and chips in Norfolk – so don’t be surprised if you have to queue. The best place to eat them is on Cromer pier, a short walk away, making this the quintessential British seaside experience.

Simple Pleasures - Fish and Chips from Mary Janes ★★★★★

I'm not usually too bothered about eating fish and chips which often smell better than they taste, but not at Mary Janes. Always queues that means everything is freshly fried - chunky white fish in the lightest batter and beautiful chips, swimming with vinegar (my taste - they don't come smothered in vinegar!). A short walk and you can sit on the promenade overlooking the sea, or even better, on the pier itself, and enjoy your fish and chips with a view of the sea.

North Norfolk's best fish and chips ★★★★☆

Be prepared to queue, but nothing tops off a visit to Cromer than a visit to this place – North Norfolk's best fish and chips by far.
