60 Renfrew Street Glasgow G2 3BW 020 3519 1111
A refreshing breath of fresh air through Glasgow’s
hotel scene, this stylish 198-bedroom modern hotel offers a decent swathe of
luxury for not much more than the cost of staying at a B&B. Part of a small chain – there are other Citizens Ms in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, London and New York – rooms may be on
the small side and you have to check yourself in, but quibbles like this are a
small price to pay for such a small price to pay. They get the basics, like seriously comfy beds right. Neat in-room touches include Vitra
design furniture and both complimentary wifi and on demand movies. Canteen M
offers light meals and a decent breakfast, while the bar mixes a mean cocktail right
through until 2am. There is a real streak of fun running through this stylish brand too with all sorts of double entendres and risque touches, such as a sign in the lobby welcome people to come in and sleep together.
