The area’s newest and perhaps most attractive café is located in a brick-built former office – a space shared with an enticing homewares store. The exterior is utilitarian, but a pea-green porch has brightened things up, and the café window is piled high with pink meringues, cupcakes, fruit and all manner of tasty goodies. The boundary between shop and café is a blurred one – the owner says that if you like the chair you sit at to drink your cuppa you can arrange to buy it. They also serve coffee, sandwiches and salads.
