Part of the University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston campus, there are a total of 185 bedrooms and three apartments spread across a trio of very different buildings and divided between four tiers of room types, in which space and luxury increase by degrees. Whatever category you choose, you’ll find all the things you’d expect from a hotel of this quality: comfy beds, quality towels and linen, tea- and coffee-making facilities, eco-friendly toiletries and a TV. There’s good WiFi too, of course, and practical things in every room – a hairdryer, iron and safe. There are also three serviced apartments for those who like to self-cater, and their cosy, comfortable ground-floor double bedrooms in the main hotel are pet-friendly so you can bring your canine companion!

The main building has a light-filled, high-ceilinged restaurant, and a no less modern but slightly cosier bar. Both are named 1900 for the year the university was founded, but you’ll not find old-fashioned canteen fare here. There are upwards of 60 gins behind the bar and a selection of innovative dishes on the restaurant menu. The hotel’s location within the Edgbaston Campus means it’s handy for anyone who’s visiting the university, but it’s also well located for lots more – the closest hotel to Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Winterbourne House and Gardens and the Birmingham Wildlife Park. It’s also only two miles into the very heart of the vibrant city and just a tad more to Cadbury World!

From the A38, follow signs for the University to turn on to Edgbaston Park Road. The hotel is on the left after half a mile. The University train station is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
