YHA Tintagel

Tintagel Cornwall PL34 0DW 0845 371 9145

We say

Perched on the top of a cliff on the dramatic north Cornwall coast, there isn't quite anywhere like the YHA Tintagel hostel. Recently re-furbished, it's an extremely comfortable place to stay, with 22 beds in the main building and small annexe, and facilities that include a dining area and lounge, a self-catering kitchen, a drying room and cycle store and a wood-burner to gather round in the evening while you gaze out at those views of the awesome north Cornish coast. There's not much to the village of Tintagel itself,  but you're just a mile from the ruins of King Arthur's Tintagel Castle - one of the most dramatic ruins in the whole of the country – and there is also Trebarwith Strand just beyond that, which is great for walking, rock-pooling and crab-hunting.

Getting There

By car: from Tintagel village take the B3263 to Tregatta (3/4m). Turn right along a narrow lane, then a very rough unlit track to the hostel. On foot: follow the road to Tintagel church, then a path 300 yds to hostel.
