Polzeath Beach

Polzeath

It’s a 15-mile trip round the estuary from Padstow to Polzeath (much shorter if you cross by ferry and walk the rest) but if you want good surf, a bucket-and-spade beach and surf side amenities, this is a good day out. The beach and village have a sheltered feel but once past the headland the waves are reliably fun. There’s surf schools, plenty of rentals for boards and wetsuits, and a cluster of relaxed cafés and restaurants on the beach, and overlooking it, poised for the sunset.
