It doesn’t get much more exclusive than this – a fabulous collection of self-catering holiday properties set within the charming grounds of a private, gated Cornish hamlet. It’s a quiet and cosy getaway in its own right, with a full range of facilities on hand – tennis court to gardens, play area to croquet and boules – yet you’re only five miles from the harbours and coast of Polperro and Looe.

There’s a huge range of properties available, starting with the grand manor house at the heart of the hamlet, beautifully furnished and appointed in the style of a gorgeous private home. This can be rented exclusively, in which case it sleeps up to fourteen people in seven bedrooms, or as two separate wings. Two open fireplaces, hot tub, two conservatories, snooker-billiards room, gardens and terraces – you get the picture, this is the very model of an elegant home away from home, with your own private estate on the doorstep.

Meanwhile, scattered around the hamlet are twelve other handsome, stone holiday cottages, sleeping between two and six people, and all finished in a similarly luxurious style. (And there’s a chic and cosy shepherd's hut too.) Facilities vary – all except one are pet-friendly, many have wood-burners, some have hot tubs, or children’s bunk rooms. But they all been beautifully converted from old farmhouses and estate cottages – retaining much of their age-old character – and kitchens and bathrooms are uniformly excellent. All have lovely little private gardens, too, with barbecue and firepit. You can choose to have a breakfast hampered delivered daily, and there’s a small hamlet shop for essentials (and a laundry room on site too).

The manicured hamlet grounds and gardens are private, for you to enjoy, and you’re surrounded by open fields, so it’s great for dog walks and strolls. The coast is just down the road, with great twin beaches at Talland Bay. The two nearby ports, Polperro and Looe, are classics of their kind, brilliant for a fun, family day out, and you’re right on the South West Coast Path, if you fancy a more energetic walk. Or the Eden Project is only half an hour away.

All those, you’ll have to share with other people – sorry about that – but once back at your private cottage, on your private estate, you can go back to being fabulously exclusive and fabulously relaxed.
