- 5 Guest Rooms
- Comfortable Boutique B&B
This conjunction of a 19th-century stone country house and white 16th-century farmhouse is about as tranquil a North Cornwall bolthole as you could imagine; we reckon there are few better places for exploring both fancy-pants Padstow and the rural beauties of northern Cornwall. Situated just outside Wadebridge, with five serene and spacious rooms looking out on the rolling countryside beyond, this is a beautiful boutique B&B with impeccably furnished guest rooms, decorated with a tastefully eclectic mixture of antiques and more contemporary items. Wooden floors are spread with kilims, you sleep in large handmade wrought-iron four-poster beds with 100% cotton linens, and there are stylish easy chairs from which to admire the glorious views. The bathrooms are large (3 have baths and 2 have separate showers) and equipped with soft towels and 'Faith in Nature' natural toiletries, and each room has tea-and coffee-making facilities, a fridge with mineral water and fresh milk. Breakfast is a sumptuous affair, with a help-yourself buffet and hot dishes on demand, all based on an array of fantastic local produce.
Costislost is also perfect for just exploring the beautiful local area: walkers and cyclists can enjoy the 18-mile-long Camel Trail which runs nearby on its journey from Wenfordbridge to Padstow, or there's the mountain biking and walking trails at Lanhydrock and Cardinham Woods. Beach lovers, meanwhile, can hit the surf-lashed north coast (about 20 minutes drive). All in all we couldn't think of a better – or healthier! – place to enjoy this beautiful part of Cornwall.
