Housed in the historic Assembly Rooms, this museum charts fashion and its followers from the 1600s to the present day. The wide-ranging permanent collection, particularly strong on 20th-century British designers, is augmented by various exhibitions, from the dresses of Princess Diana to the Dress of the Year collection, featuring designs by Mary Quant, John Galliano, Julien McDonald, Versace and Tom Ford among others.
