Organic bakery treats and fab coffee in a traditional seaside town.
12 Wellington Road Bridlington YO15 2BG 07853303049
Katy Wheelwright's business card for her Bridlington bakery-café says it all – "bread and cakes made by me, using traditional methods and my favourite organic and fairtrade ingredients". That's all you need to know, so head right on in for amazing cakes, pastries and desserts, plus a veggie and vegan café menu that specialises in things like spicy beanburgers, seriously rich quiches, cheese and nut savoury rolls, scotch eggs and more. There's an espresso bar on one side, run by self-professed coffee geek and son Oakley, a counter full of goodies on the other, and a light-filled back room with doors opening onto the garden. For now it's daytime only, but Sunday brunches and café nights are also on the cards. Don't walk right past the place – nowhere outside does it say 'Little Organic Bakery', but it's at the building signposted @No12.
