This futuristic-looking building just outside the city encourages a fun, hands-on approach to science with over a hundred interactive exhibits, from wind tunnels and sound waves to flight simulators and how to create your own vortex. The huge planetarium next door – the largest in the UK – screens daily films (more at weekends) in which you can experience a rocket launch or take a guided flight through the solar system. It's a real techno-centre thats great for kids who find intrigue in science and sci-fi.
