Craft in the Bay

Housed within a refurbished cargo warehouse at the entrance to the Bay, Craft in the Bay does exactly what it says on the tin. A bright and spacious exhibition and craft retail space, it showcases a dazzling array of contemporary applied art and craft – ceramics, textiles, jewellery and the like – most of which is handcrafted by practitioners from across Wales, with a few overseas contributors thrown in for good measure. Architecturally, the building is a bit special too: known as a “D” Shed, it has been part-clad with oak and slate and sheer-glazed on two sides, while the interior retains the original cast iron beams and columns. The stylish modern extension is home to Kemi’s Café, which is well worth visiting once you’re done browsing.
