Stein Inn

Waternish Isle of Skye IV55 8GA

The Stein Inn is a truly unique escape in the remote community of Waternish on the Isle of Skye. This whitewashed gem sits just back from the shore offering views across the rugged coastline of the island and beyond to the distant Western Isles. Dating back to the 18th century, it boasts bags of character, not to mention 125 single malt whiskies, which helps make it as busy with locals as it is with tourists. The food is a step up from pub grub, with local seafood making its way onto the menu. There are rooms upstairs too if you really want to make a night of it – and the couple who run the place, Angus and Teresa McGhie, could not be more welcoming.
